#AskCaolan – Episode 01 –  Is there a way of tracking in Gmail if an email or email attachment has been opened or read?

This week’s question comes from Made in Murrindindi, a regional organisation in central Victoria, who use Gmail as their main email client.

In this episode I discuss three different ways you can approach the issue.

Firstly I talk about a couple of different extensions that you can plug into your Gmail account. They include Yesware (www.yesware.com) and Sidekick (www.getsidekick.com).

Secondly I stressed the importance of moving to a professional email service provider (ESP) and the benefits beyond just email tracking that these services provide. I often refer people to Mailchimp (www.mailchimp.com) as it’s free to use if you have a database that’s less than 5,000 people.

Lastly, I discussed why tracking these interactions is important and what it can do for your business. Let me just say that I think it’s vital!

Do you have a question about email tracking, service providers or just making your digital life even easier? Head over to www.regionalbusinesstoolkit.com/ask-caolan/ and as it there. That way your question may be answered by not only me but the entire Regional Business Toolkit community. How cool does that sound?
